Job Purpose Summary

To ensure that the stock record is accurately maintained for the Castleford Site, and also for the international CMS stock locations, utilising physical counts, system tools and reports. 

Key Role Responsibilities for Castleford: 

  • Manage physical cycle count process on each shift and ensure that whole warehouse is physically checked in line with current count frequency guidance. Ensure any discrepancies are investigated, root cause identified and documented.
  • Training and coaching of warehouse staff on WMS cycle count process. This is both in terms of physical counts and the associated WMS procedures
  • Manage periodic full site stock checks in addition to the daily cycle counts. This includes planning the count process and labour requirements, carrying out the the re-checks and error correction and ultimately, the reconciliation to SAP.
  • Work with Customer Service team to ensure that all customer shipping issues are investigated and resolved.  
  • Manage the stock rotations process (including the shipping documentation) as requested by Product and Vendor Managers.
  • Using analysis of sales levels, and knowledge of safe working practice, determine appropriate physical stock locations for products. This will be in conjunction with the WMS management team to ensure that physical locations and system parameters are aligned.
  • Carry out physical stock movements of stock in order to re-locate products to more suitable locations
  • Ensure that the Stock Control team are working with the Planning Team, External vendors, and Vendor Managers to resolve inbound delivery queries.

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Resolve serial number discrepancies using knowledge of the serial number capture process and analysis of the serial number database.
  • Liase with returns team to remove non conforming and damaged goods from the warehouse.
  • Correct failed interface transactions between SAP and WMS. This involves understanding the EDI transactions logs and correction data on the systems. Liasing where necessary with Credit Control Team, Product managers and IT team.
  • Reconcile physical stock levels to system stock (SAP and WMS). This involves the use of system generated reports to investigate anomalies and correct transactions on WMS and SAP.
  • Key Role Responsibilities for other sites: 
  • Working with colleagues in each site, ensure that cycle counts and full periodic counts are carried out.
  • Ensure that the Planning Team and Vendor Managers resolve inbound delivery queries.
  • Ensure that all customer shipping issues are investigated and resolved.  
  • Advise colleagues in each site with regard to suitable physical locations for stock.
  • Support each location with knowledge transfer. 
  • Ensure that all interface transactions between the local site system and SAP are monitored and corrected.
  • Reconcile physical stock levels to system stock (SAP and site system). This involves the use of system generated reports to investigate anomalies and correct transactions on WMS and the local system.

 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Financial awareness to understand the impact of stock loss

  • Numerate and systems literate (Excel, SAP, database)
  • Confident interpreter of  data
     

Additional Responsibilities

Experience & Knowledge 

  • Full 360 degree knowledge of warehouse processes, preferably in an electronics or FMCG environment
  • Experience of stock count processes involving 5000 pick faces, 4000 bulk locations and a “break bulk” environment (bulk received, parcels shipped)
  • Experienced user of ERP systems (Prefer SAP) and Warehouse Management systems (Prefer HighJump)
  • Understanding of data analysis tools within Excel to identify patterns and trends
  • Trained and licenced to drive FLT and PPT
