Job Purpose Summary

The Vendor Manager owns the Vendor and Customer Relationship on their assigned Vendors and is responsible for executing the day-to-day collaboration between CMS, Customer and Vendors. The Vendor Manager is responsible for the profitability and owns the end-to-end pricing on products from assigned Vendors. They are the first point of contact for all Customer related queries and are responsible for the efficient day to day management of the Customer accounts. This role works in collaboration with CMS teams in USA, JAPAC and EMEA to ensure that the Customers service level requirements are met in line with CMS goals and objectives. The candidate’s duties play a crucial role in the profitability and continued success and provision of excellent service of the company to Customer and Vendor partners. 

Role Responsibilities

The Main Duties and Responsibilities are:

Vendor and Customer Relationship 

•    Ownership of Vendor and Customer Relationship for assigned Vendors.
•    Development and maintenance of effective business relationships with Customer and 
Vendors through proactive communication and management.
•    Provision of the day to day management of our Customer and Vendor partners. 
•    Management of communications with Vendors and Customer.
•    Problem solving, research/investigation of issues and provision of solutions as needed.
•    Active participation in Customer and Vendor meetings/calls.
•    Knowledge of Vendor and Customer contractual obligations.
•    Overseeing and Managing Customer and Vendor QBR’s and Business Reviews.


Vendor Profitability

•    Overall responsibility for profitability of assigned Vendors.
•    Actively play a part in revenue and GP target setting and achievement for assigned 
Vendors. 
•    Ensure product cost and sell prices are correct and maintained in relevant systems
             including but not limited to SAP and V5/V6.
•    Understanding cost and pricing models for each region. 
•    Monitoring assigned Vendor Gross Profit (GP) and proactively investigating 
inconsistencies.
•    If incorrect GP is identified due to error (system or otherwise) ensure resolution in 
timely manner.
•    Understanding Vendor terms to ensure we maximise Return on Working Capital. 

Product and Inventory Management

•    Take lead on New Vendor Set-up on CMS Systems.
•    Responsible for accuracy and completeness of product master data for Set Up, Launch 
and EOL.
•    Review customer forecast for New Product Introductions (NPI) on assigned Vendors and 
offer input to demand planning to change as needed.
•    Work with Demand Planning to ensure Inventory levels are as per CMS requirements 
and guidelines.
•    Ensure completion of Hub Chain Report (HCR) weekly in line with guidelines. 
•    Understand how to review weeks of stock (Customer and CMS owned) and value of 
stock holding.
•    Pro-actively work with Vendor to ensure product delivery dates are accurate on open 
Purchase Orders.
•    Escalation point for Customer when products are in short supply or on allocation. 
•    Provide direction to sales operations concerning the allocation of customer orders 
when necessary.
•    Work with Customer and Vendor and be internal escalation point to resolve overstock, 
EOL and RMA issues in a timely manner.

•    Adhere to internal processes, timelines, and protocols.
•    Clear and professional verbal and written communication to internal and external 
teams
•    Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal CMS Teams (Warehousing, 
Finance, Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics) to optimise the business efficiencies. 
•    Proactive and organised focus in the completion of tasks to exceed expectations.
•    Proactively contribute to regular submissions to the Director and to process 
improvement initiatives.
Any other reasonable request by Management.

Additional Responsibilities

Skills & Personal Attributes

•    Associates Degree or Bachelors’ Degree a plus but not required.
•    Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Exceptional organization and time-management skills and ability to work 
independently.
•    Superior attention to detail is a must.
•    Flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure, handling multiple tasks with 
interruptions and changing priorities.
•    Knowledge of distribution and experience in working with cross functional teams.
•    Commercial understanding of Consumer Electronic business preferred.
•    Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications; MS Word, Excel, Access, Power 
Point and experience with SAP is preferred.
