Job Purpose Summary
CMS Distribution is one of Europe’s leading specialist technology distributor, a growing and successful £500m Revenue business with 500+ people across twelve sites located in UK, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, US and China.
You will be employed as a Group Finance Manager reporting to the Group Financial Controller. The role will involve consolidating financial activities across multiple business units, ensuring robust financial controls are in place, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management. You will be responsible for but not limited to, the following;
Role Responsibilities
- Manage the month end process to ensure the production of accurate and timely financial information
- Oversee the finance teams work and develop plans for efficiencies
- Contribute to team development including coaching
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Balance Sheet by
- Ensuring full substantiation of all accruals
- Refining monthly balance sheet reconciliations process to maintain compliance with internal controls
- Promptly address any potential issues
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems, identify opportunities to enhance system efficiencies
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to consistently throughout Business Units
- Assist in managing group reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
- Lead the consolidation of financial statements across multiple business units
- Prepare and report month/quarter end financials to wider teams and the Senior Leadership Team according to agreed timescales
- Provide detailed feedback on financial data to relevant stakeholders and update rolling monthly forecasts
- Work closely with the FP& A team and assist in building the annual budget plan, and quarterly forecasts
- Assist in the design of and implement robust reporting structures to enhance financial transparency and decision-making
- Assist in the ongoing integration of transformational projects, continually enhancing financial reporting processes and systems
- Assist the preparation for and the undertaking of the annual audit
Additional Responsibilities
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Fully Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA with PQE 5yrs+
- Experience in managing a finance team in a commercial environment, ideally in the FMCG area
- Experience of managing a significant workload, highly organised with strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and delegate
- Ability to work with management in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead/develop team and also work within teams outside of own financial area and with cross-functional teams
- Track record in delivering to deadlines and driving continuous improvement while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to present or explain key findings/information to different audiences.
- SAP accounting software experience would be beneficial
- Willing to travel to various sites and external meetings as required
