Assistant Financial Accountant

Job Purpose Summary

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our fast paced Finance team.This role will work in the GL team assisting in management accounts prep. Part of that role will include reviewing transactions across a number of areas, notably: general ledger transaction management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and treasury, VAT compliance and others.

Role Responsibilities

Management Accounts Preparation

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assist in Preparation of accruals and prepayments
  • Assist in Overhead Analysis
  • Assist in maintainence of Fixed Asset Register and post monthly depreciation journal
  • Assist in the analysis of Actual costs V Accruals
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of balance sheet accounts reconciliations
  • Assist Team leads and Senior Finance managers as required.

Monthly Reporting

  • Assist month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of business unit P&Ls
  • Assist in the analysis of overhead rolling forecasts.and budget v actual
  • Assisting with the year-end audit and statutory accounts by provided required documentation
  • Assisting in special projects as assigned

Systems Update

  • Support the maintenance of the finance reporting systems
  • Various Systems updates and process improvements

Additional Responsibilities

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Relevant Bachelors degree, Accounting Technician qualification or experience in lieu of degree
  • SAP Accounting Software experience would be desirable
  • Experience of managing a significant workload
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
